I made them with a variety of Sizzix dies by Eileen Hull.

I used the Button Jars & Labels die, the Leaves/Spring die, the 3-D Adirondack Chair, and the Make-it-3D Box.

First I covered some mat board with burlap, adhering it with Scotch Super 77 spray adhesive,  and made two jar die cuts, plus one of the flexible boxes from the Make-it-3D die.

Next I folded the box at its score markings, gluing this “box” to the jar pieces to make it three dimensional.

It doesn’t look like a turkey body yet, but it will when we add the feathers, which are actually leaves made from the spring leaves die and autumn-themed scrapbook paper.

I glued the leaves to the back of the jar, fanning them out. 

For the turkey head, I die cut the large slat of the adirondack chair die, and the smaller leaf from the spring leaves die.

I glued the turkey neck to the front of the jar, and glued the head to the top of the neck, flopping it over with the leaf stem in the back.

Add some googly eyes.

And for the finishing touch, the turkey wattle! I die cut it out of the label section of the button jar die and glued it under the head. It looked like a wattle!

Fill the jar with nuts or candy, and you’ve got a cute treat cup for Thanksgiving. Get ready to gobble up compliments.

And now, on to my project. Our assignment was to incorporate all four sponsors’ products in either a Halloween or birthday (or both) theme. Here’s what I received in the mail to work with. 1) Rowlux® Illusion Film, which is this super cool material that looks like it has wavy 3-D patterns in it, 2) Spellbinders™ M-Bossabilities Reversible Embossing Folder, 3) Westcott® Cutting tools, 4) Aleene’s Tacky 2-sided Adhesive Sheets and Tulip Fashion Glitter from iLoveToCreate®.

To make the eyeglasses, I found a free template online at firstpalette.com. Then I sprayed some Elmer’s Repositionable Mounting Spray Adhesive on the template and placed it on the back side of the Rowlux film so i could use it as a pattern.

I used the Westcott Titanium nonstick scissors to cut along the outlines. For the interior holes of the eyeglass frames, I used a Westcott hobby knife. The Rowlux film cuts very easily.

Next, I cut strips of the Aleene’s Tacky 2-sided adhesive strips and adhered one side to the eyeglass frames to make stripes.

I placed the frames and the ear pieces in the Spellbinders M-Bossabilities folder and ran it through the Spellbinders Grand Calibur machine to give the Rowlux material even more dimension.

Next, I removed the top protective layer of the adhesive strips from the eyeglass frames.

I placed the eyeglasses face down on some Tulip Fashion Glitter, pressing down to adhere the glitter to the adhesive strips.

I brushed off the excess glitter and attached the ear pieces to the frames with a small piece of Aleene’s Tacky 2-sided adhesive.

I had some extra Rowlux film left, so I decided to cut out a matching mustache, sticking it to a skewer with a glue dot.

The eyeballs look cool displayed in an apothecary jar. They are also magic eyeballs, so if you use the iris image I drew, I will be watching you. Oh yes, I see you now. Bwahaha!

Doesn’t bunting look like monster teeth? It sure does when you add giant googly eyes.

I made these spiders out of paper clips and electrical tape, and dangled them from the ceiling.
