These are centerpieces and table decor I created for another underground dinner by Amy's Culinary Adventures. The location was the Topanga Community Club in Topanga Canyon. Because of the high ceilings, I wanted centerpieces that also had height, so they would make an impact in the space. I love the concept of "lampshade centerpieces," in which the lamp shade of the arrangement provides soft light for the event, but I also didn't want to buy a bunch of lamp shades that I'd have to put into storage afterwards. Instead, I used Ikea Lekman storage bins. They are translucent, come in different colors (I used red), and I could actually use them after the event as storage bins for my Ikea Expedit bookcase. To go with the "Bite Me" theme, I used my Sizzix eClips die-cutting machine to cut out candy heart phrases on vinyl to adhere to the sides. In the 40" cylindrical vases, I placed red anthuriums because they look like hearts. And I hung some LED floralytes at the top of the vase to shine down on the flowers.
