Upcycled Album Cover Pop-Up Card

I have a stash of old album covers, most with no vinyl records in them – I just like to collect the covers for crafting. As you know, I’ve already made album cover tissue boxes. This week, I was making a card for a friend’s birthday, so I looked through my album covers and found this old exercise album from Bonnie Prudden called “Keep Fit Be Happy.” Well, that was appropriate for a birthday, I thought. And then when I saw the photo of Bonnie doing the splits on the cover, I knew this just had to be a pop-up card. I used Karen Burniston’s Sizzix Pop ‘N Cuts die set with the circle label, but instead of cutting the pop-up circle label on card stock, I cut it on clear plastic. In fact, I used the clear packaging of one of my Sizzix dies. This way, the pop-up mechanism was totally invisible and didn’t interfere with the background, and it really looks like Bonnie is just sitting on the card stretching her legs. To finish the card, I added words that I cut out with my Sizzix eClips machine with eCal software. Now I can’t decide whether to actually give the card away or keep it, since I love it so much. What do you think?
