Floral Wine Bottles
For an Italian-themed dinner for Amy’s Culinary Adventures, an elegant evening of 75 guests enjoying a five-course Italian feast, I created centerpieces made with empty wine bottles, covering the bottles with flowers and other embellishments. I really love this idea because it’s a very eco-friendly way to recycle wine bottles and use them as vases.

I glued pom poms and mums to the bottles with floral adhesive for these colorful vases. To complete the look, simple wildflowers do the trick. |
These wine bottles covered in moss were so easy to make. Moss comes in mesh-backed sheets at the floral supply store, and I just cut the sheet to fit and hot glued it onto the bottle. Then I wrapped a white ribbon around the bottle (gluing the ends) and glued a medallion onto it.

I also covered wine bottles with magnolia leaves, alternating the green and brown side of the leaves on each row. I attached the leaves with a hot glue gun. |
When all the vases were lined up on the table, they made an impressive display. And because the tables were so narrow, the slim profile of the bottles worked well as centerpieces. |
